Real Portrait of India Post Version of Finacle

Post Office staffs and Agents are struggling with Finacle and Agent portal now days.  No one had expected that this much volume of accounts and transactions would come in statistics when only one fourth of the offices have been migrated to CBS.

Even though Department of Post has given a good amount to Infosys for the implementation of Finacle in Post Office, sufficient customization has not been done in India Post version of Finacle.  Infosys simply sold the Finacle banking software to DoP claiming that it is a Global Banking solution.
Actually it was a good deal for Infosys because without customizing the application according to the POSB rules or terminologies used in the application, they obtained this mega project.
Even though Finacle is using in more number of Banks, the strength of this application is yet to be tested.  Because Punjab National Bank is the largest bank using Finacle for their banking operations.  PNB has only below 6500 branches across the country.  But now itself nearly 7000 Post Offices are using Finacle and struggling due to Server constraint.
To show case the above said scenario I am reproducing an excellent Facebook post I have seen yesterday.
Conversation between India Post and Infosys
DoP             : Our requirement is – Need an “Elephant”

Infosys        : But why don’t you adjust with a Buffalo, it is Big…. and Black?”

DoP             : No, we need an Elephant only.

Infosys        : Fine, I understand your requirement. But our system supports      only a Buffalo.

DoP             : We need only an Elephant!

Infosys        : Ok, let us see if I can customize it for you”

At the Offshore Development Centre : Design/Development – Client wants a Big, Black, Four Legged Animal, Long Tail, Less Hair. Having Trunk is Mandatory. The same was documented, signed off and sent to offshore for development!
Based on requirement all Features are supported in Base Product (as Buffalo), for Trunk alone a Separate Customization is done.

Finally the customization (Finacle / McCamish-PLI) is shown to DoP as Below:

    Really Dear Friend its 101% true. The hard worker DOP System Administrators are ruined by the Infosys through the Administration of DOP. whereas the entire work of CBS and migration up to the smooth working of counter is belongs to and have to completed by Infosys persons and technicians. all the old out dated hardware should be (Must be) thrown out and good fresh configuration computer systems should be deployed for the CBS work. Along with the Antivirus security (other than Symantec its not working properly).
    All type of the work of migration and pre migration get completed with the help of Departmental System Administrators without given them a single rupee for their hard ship and day night work of technology. Sify Network in the Maharastra is one of the great obstacles with low band width speed its creates problems and working very slow where as the work flow is very high in the DOP Counters.
    The picture showing the modified elephant from the Buffalo is right sign of todays CBS work of the great historical department of Posts india.

    further migrations must stop!!!!! Look there is no staff, poor infrastructure, poor servers, fraud Infosys. Until and unless current working in Finacle becomes smooth, no migration shoul d happen.

    WHY OUR DEPARTMENT AFRAID TO COMPELL THE RELIANCE TO INSTALL THE SERVER.
